Carbon removal and reduction credits generated from injecting captured CO₂ into concrete.
This project captures CO2 which would have otherwise been emitted into the atmosphere and utilizes it in the production of concrete. Captured C02 is injected into the concrete mix forming a mineral that permanently locks carbon within the cement, removing and reducing emissions and strengthening the material.
The result is high integrity, technology-based carbon removal credits that revolutionize the building material and construction industries.

CarbonCure’s proprietary technology introduces recycled CO2 into fresh concrete to reduce its carbon footprint, without compromising performance.
CarbonCure technology has prevented more than 705,000+ metric tonnes of CO2 emissions and deployed over 10M truckloads of CarbonCure concrete globally.
Invert’s investment allowed CarbonCure to accelerate technology adoption by providing immediate revenue to producers making the switch.

Dive deep into the project.
CarbonCure is on a mission to make concrete a climate solution, annually reducing and removing 500 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The grand prize winner of the 2021 CarbonXPRIZE, CarbonCure offers an innovative, award-winning technology for the use of carbon mineralization in concrete production.
CarbonCure’s award-winning carbon utilization technologies reduce the carbon footprint of concrete. They work with hundreds of concrete producers around the world to mineralize and avoid tens of thousands of metric tons of carbon emissions annually. In turn, this generates high-quality carbon credits that deliver immediate, scalable, high-impact climate benefits. Investing in CarbonCure carbon removal credits will help build a global network of concrete plants that also act as carbon removal factories, and accelerate and scale the decarbonization of the concrete industry.
Industry-leading global organizations including Shopify, Zendesk, Stantec, ACT Commodities, Rothschild & Co, Deloitte, Royal Bank of Canada and Bank of Montreal purchased CarbonCure carbon removal credits as part of their decarbonization goals.
Verra was founded in 2007 by environmental and business leaders who saw the need for greater quality assurance in voluntary carbon markets. We now manage the world’s leading voluntary carbon markets program, the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) Program, as well as a suite of other programs, incubate new ideas to generate meaningful environmental and social value at scale, and advance the use of these programs worldwide.
